Review of the Week: Spider-men #4

Be sure to check out my reviews of issues 1, 2, and 3. Last issue Peter went to see the Ultimate Universe Aunt May. This issue, well, not much happens really. Aunt May and Gwen Stacy have the typical WTF reaction, it ends up with Peter, Miles, Gwen and May all chatting for a while and comparing notes. Then Nick Fury shows up to get Peter and Miles. Peter helps Tony Stark track Mysterio, then when they think they found him the 2 Spider-men and the Ultimates head out to kick his ass and set things right.

Granted this issue is pretty slow, but as I've said before if you like Ultimate Spider-man you will like this. The exchanges between Peter and the various Ultimate characters, especially Aunt May and Gwen, are funny and touching. Also Gwen calls MJ to tell her about this, she heads over right as Peter and Miles are leaving and when she sees Peter she bursts into tears and runs away. I actually really felt for MJ the most in this issue, odd since she was barely in it and had only a couple of lines. Really goes to show how much emotion a solid artist can get out of even the simplest moments. The biggest complaint I have is that cover has NOTHING to do with that is happening in this issue.

As I've said with the other parts if you like Ultimate Spider-man you should be reading this.
